Production meeting reflection log 4
My duty this week was to finish all the editing and add idents to the beginning and ending of every vt filmed as well as the three music videos which will be used for the live day. I completed all the editing of the vt's filmed. I used two different softwares which included Imovie and Final cut express. The reason i used both these softwares is because some Vt which i filmed needed more effects and transitions which is more advanced on Final cut express. For example the editing for the opening montage doesn't need to be as edited as the other Vt.
I feel this week was overall successful and i feel happy that i completed both my tasks. I also managed to edit on my own. At the beginning the graphics operator Prabhjyot offered to help as he finished his role. Also because two people are usually in charge of this role however, i managed to finish this task on my own in time for the deadline.
This week i worked on my own. However the graphics operator did have to give me the logo so that i was able to add idents at the beginning and ending of each vt. I also worked with the director as she had a look at my work and informed me of what she thought. I also had to make sure I gave the correct timings for the vt's edited as this had to be included in to the master script.

For the interview i included different styles and techniques. For example having a short clip of the music video in the corner so the audience can see.

Next week is our actual live day. Before the live day i have to make sure i am aware of what the timings are for the Vt. For example at what time in the live day i have to play the different Vts etc. We will be having a test run on Tuesday which means i will have a chance to take part in my role. This will also prepare me for the actual day as i will be aware of what i have to do.

Production meeting reflection-3
The duties i had this week was to film and edit two Vts which will be used in the live. The first Vt was an interview asking questions to the star and director of a music video. The second Vt was 'street beat' this was a filming of three people who had to watch the three music videos and say what they thought and what they would rate the music video.
This week the filming was successful as i managed to film all the shots needed. I also made sure all the shots filmed were acurate and suitable whilst editing.
I need to develop the editing. As i have not completed the editing there is still alot to change and complete. Certain parts need to be changed and the music required also needs to be changed to match the pace of the editing.
Next week i am hoping to finish all the editing and also add idents. I will have to finish the editing and then decide what type of idents i want to use.
This week i worked with my director Jasmeet. We discussed what had to be filmed and how i should edit it. Jasmeet and the floor manager Prinul as helped film for the interview. For the 'street beat' the presenter Jada, the vision mixer Ellie, camera man Anthony and the graphics designer Prabhjyot all helped with the filming of the 'street beat'. The graphics designer Prabhjyot will also be helping me next week with the editing of the 'street beat'. All the peers i worked with this week was overall successful and effective as we were able to communicate and help eachother in our roles and duties.

Production Meeting Reflection 2
The key point you made within my role this week involved me choosing the part of the music videos i wanted to be used in the opening montage. The three music videos we decided to use were jadas, jasmeets and TJ's. The parts which i chose for the montage all show a backgroud view of what the music video is going to be about. The opening montage will give the views an idea of what is going to come up on the show and what they will be seeing in the show.
The Group response to my ideas and progress was positive. Everyove liked the parts of the music video i had chosen. They also liked the fact that i chose the part of the music video were the audience can see what the actual music video is going to be about.
The most Successful part of this week was choosing the correct part. This was successful as i was able to choose the correct scene at the end. This was successful as my director overlooked it and i had her consent which is why the overall task was a success.
At the beginning i had to change and develop the scenes i chose. The reason for this was because, i chose different part of the music video however not the main aspects which would allow the audience to understand what the music video is going to be about.
I Intend to start making the opening montage next week and also add idents before and after inserts. The opening montage will include all three music videos and the chosen scene which i have decided to use.
From the hierarchical peers this week i only needed to work with my director. This was to discuss the chosen scenes and get consent from the director as to
weather the chosen scene is best for the opening montage or weather it can be changed to something which is more apparent and easy for the audience to see what the music video and show is going to be about. This was effective as my director helped me decide which scenes were best. At first i had to change it as my director wanted the opening montage to have the main actor and actress shown so the audience know what the music video is going to be about.

VT operator
Opening Montage
For the opening montage I had to decide which part of the music video i will be showing. I have to edit the three music videos together. The first one will be Jada's, Jasmeet and TJ's. Me and the director Jasmeet decided we would have a song over the montage which would be Flo-rida club cant handle me. We decided to use 1.08 to 1.14 seconds of the song.

Production Meeting Reflection 1
The production meeting was run by having the media class sat around the table discussing our ideas. In this discuss we had to explain what our ideas were about and what we had mentioned in the pitch. At the beginning of the discussion our group did not interact much as we were not sure on what we were suppose to do. Whether we was suppose to talk about our ideas or members within our group. Once the misunderstanding cleared we all manages to explain our ideas in enough detail to receive response on what our group thought was best about our work and what they thought had to be changed.
The groups response to my idea was the USP was liked. The group liked the idea of having a guest showing a unique talent. I also explained how the guest can show a unique talent, for example Taylor was part of the music video we had chosen so if Taylor was the guest she could show how she did the weird back bend which she did in the music video. i felt this USP was interesting and unique. Another thing which my classes liked was one of my games. The game which my class liked was 'guess the lyrics' which was a game where the guest has to sing the remaining part of the lyrics.
I voted for Jadas idea. The reason for this was because, i very much liked her idea and there were many aspects of her show which i liked and this included the games, etc. The name which Jada had chosen was also liked and preferred by the class. I also thought the name 'The beat' is interesting and unique as its to do with music which is also an advantage.

For example one of the students decided to do 'sing the missing lyrics' which i felt was a good game and the audience cud also get involved. Also the idea of having a twitter account which will allow audience at home to interact and get involved. I also feel my USP of the guest showing a unqiue talent would be interesting as it would be different. There are many aspects as mentioned which can be incorporated within the show.

Task 2B
Music magazine production:
Mt music magazine show will be named 'Echo'. This show will be shown for 30 minutes. The reason i have decided to name it echo is because i feel music echos. In other words music is loud and expresses emotions and feelings which should echo in a room. The effect of the music magazine show echo will allow audience to engage as they will feel connected to the music. I feel the title 'echo' will allow the audience to relate to the music magazine show meaning they will be able to compare music to the title and feel of the show. The atmosphere and surrounding of the magazine show will be upbeat and fun. The audience will see the fun and enjoyable atmosphere which 'echo' will present.
My show will be targeted at young teenage audience as i feel they interact and relate more to the show then any other target audience. The theme which i feel will best suit my magazine show is fun, no restriction and no limit. Fun meaning the music magazine show will allow the audience to feel comfortable as well as give the fun edge to the show. The presenters will engage with the audience and the atmosphere will be pleasant. No restriction meaning the audience will enjoy the show and the show will produce a atmosphere where there's no restriction. The music presented will show that music has no restriction to creativity and ideas. Lastly no limit meaning music can go beyond thought. Emotions and thought can be changed by music. Music can change emotions and feelings which is why there is no limit and the magazine show will present that atmosphere to the audience.
Program format:
The program format will be based on music and upcoming artists. I want my program to start with a lively upbeat atmosphere were the audience are able to engage with the presenters and those who are on the show. At the beginning of the show i would want my magazine show to start with the logo for my magazine show. This will allow the viewers to be aware and alert as to what my magazine show is about.
Shows on from: 7.00pm-7.30pm
7.00-7.05:This is the beginning of the show. I want my presenters to start the show by saying 'Hello, and welcome to echo'. Thereafter i want my logo to be shown and the word 'echo' is repeated with an echo affect. The presenters will then sit down and talk about what the show is going to be about and whats going to be shown on today's episode.
7.05-7.10: The presenters will firstly introduce the first guest. Ask them questions about the music video which they helped direct, film or perform.
7.10-7.15: Music video one will be shown, and the first guest will answer any questions which the audience have. Thereafter the next guest will be introduced.
7.15-7.20: BREAK and straight after the break Music video two will be shown. Thereafter the guest will be asked any questions which the audience have for them.
7.20-7.25: There will be a competition between both the guest. The competition will involve answering questions on music, singing the missing lyrics and guessing who the artist are. The first game is going to be questions on recent or upcoming artist. The second game will involve the guests to listen carefully to the beats of the song and sing the lyrics and lastly guessing who the artist are. This involves the guests to identify the artist from whats shown. For example the board may show just the eyes of the artist which means the guest will have to identify the artist.
7.25-7.30: The last music video will be shown and the presenters will thank the guest for being here and give the winning guest a gift. The show will end with the presenters telling the viewers a fact on music such as ' What the new upcoming single is?'
Content ideas:
The content ideas of my music video is to have an atmosphere where its upbeat and the feeling of the atmosphere is fun and interactive. The main aspect of my magazine show is to have a competition which will be about different music genre and games. The games will involve the guest to guess who the artist are and what the lyrics of the song are. This is part of the competition and the winner will get a prize at the end which will motivate them to try their best throughout the games.
Studio design/ background sketch:
The theme i have decided to choose for the music magazine show is new, stylish and trendy. I want the studio to look like the atmosphere is fun and active. The set studio will be colourful and also the lighting will be bright to indicate the lively atmosphere as the colours used in the studio will be bright and vibrant. I also want my logo to be on the walls.
The image on the left are some of the colours and ideas of the type of style i want my magazine show to have. The colours are vibrant and bright and i want my music video to show the liveliness of the show.
These bright colours also describe the atmosphere which is also what i want my audience to see. The audience will judge the overall magazine show depending on the atmosphere which is why it is important for the magazine shows background and studio setting matches the mood of the atmosphere.
The furniture in the studio will be white for example the sofa. The table and everything else will be stylish and unique. As you can see the image of the table indicates different styles which may be used in my magazine show. The furniture also describes the mood of the magazine show. It describes the atmosphere as calm and trendy. The furniture will be white as the room is already colourful and in order for the furniture to stand out it has to be white, as white stands out best.
i want the wall behind my presenters to be white so that it stands out as the feature wall and the logo to go on it. By having a white wall with the logo on it will allow the logo to stand out and the audience will be much aware of what the show is called. The reason have decided to use a white wall for the background of the logo is because my logo has a musical symbol which is rimed black which will stand out on a white wall.
The camera will be directed at the presenter and guest. There will be two cameras present as this is a multi-camera task. The presenters will have to make sure they look at the right camera when necessary. Its important for the floor manager to make sure they direct the presenter and the guest so that they are aware of when they have to look at camera 1 or camera 2. In the image above position A and B of camera 1 is shown. This shows how camera 1 is going to be used twice as two cameras instead of one.
Presenters
I want my presenters to be stylish and new. I want my presenters to have the latest styles and trends. The clothes which they wear to be new and stand out so that they are seen as stylish magazine presenters and the audience are aware that the presenters are fun. The presenters have a huge impact of what the audience feel about the show this is mainly because the show is mainly to do with the presenter. The presenters are the ones who run the show and if the presenters are not able to interact with the audience the audience will not enjoy the show. Having stylish and fun presenters allows the show to be enjoyable and interactive.
An example of a presenter which i feel is fun and interactive is the presenter from 'Take me out' Paddy Mcguinness. This presenter is funny and also able to interact with the audience. The presenter allows the atmosphere to match the mood of the show which is why the show has a lot of viewers. The presenters have to be fun and enjoyable as the audience will mainly make a judgement of the show depending on the atmosphere which is created by the presenters.
The images above describe the type of clothes and style i want my female presenter to have. I have chosen different types of clothes which i feel will match the mood and atmosphere of the show. The type of clothing i have chosen is in style, casual and stylish. This type of clothing already conveys this show is casual and laid back. The presenters clothing also have an impact on the audience as it also allows them to make a judgement on what the audience feel of the show.
If the presenter is a male i would also want him to wear casual clothes. The clothes will allow the audience to see the atmosphere and the mood of the show. I want my presenters to present themselves as casual and calm. This will allow the audience to feel comfortable alongside it will indicate that the audience are able to let loose and enjoy themselves.
Presentation style:
The presentation style i have chosen for my magazine show is calm and enjoyable. Calm meaning the atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. I want the audience to feel the atmosphere is enjoyable and they are able to interact with the presenters. Creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere is extremely important as it allows the viewers to feel connect to the magazine show and the presenters.
I don't want my magazine show to be formal i want the atmosphere to be informal as my target audience is teenagers from the age or 16-20. This age range is more likely to engage with a show which is more laid back and informal than a show which is formal. The informal atmosphere will allow the viewers to be more alert and connect to the show than a show were the atmosphere is formal.

Multi-Camera Job Roles
I will be analysing and evaluating the key duties and skills which different job roles have to consider in the multi-camera TV industry. Every job role has different duties and skills which are relevant and specific for that particular job role. The different job roles i will be evaluating are
Camera operator
Sound mixing
Vision mixing
Directing
Set designer
Lighting desk
Floor manager
Graphics generation
Videotape operator
Presenter
Camera Operator:
The camera operator has different roles and duties which must be followed. There are many duties which the camera operator has which other job roles also have but there are also specific job roles which the camera operator alone has. An example of a job role which is specifically important for a camera operator is that they must be able to function and use the camera. They have to be able to use the camera in an effective way and also be able to know what they have to when filming. Their job role enables them to make sure they have met the requirements for filming such as using different camera angles and shots. Another job role which is specially important for the camera operator is that they must be able to set the camera and also be able to manage the camera. For example setting the camera in a suitable position and being able to film a variety of shots which are required. Another job role which the camera operator must be able to do is solve any technological problems such as camera problems. This is because they must be able to fix and understand the equipment they are required to use. The camera operator will work right at the bottom of the structure this is because they are only required to follow the instructions of the director and also make sure what the director says is followed.
The skills which a camera operator is required to have is:
-The camera operator must be able to function and understand how the equipment's work. For example all the equipment's under their supervision such as camera, tripod etc. These equipment's must be used in an effective way which is why the camera operator must be able to use them and also understand the equipment's so that if their is any technological problems they will know what they are required to do.
- The camera operator must be able to differentiate between camera angles and shots. The camera operator should be able to use a range of camera angles and shots which is most effective and suitable for that specific shot.
-Another skill which necessary for a camera operator to have is that they should be able to multi-task. This is an important factor which a camera operator must have because it means that they are able to communicate and also work at the same time. The duties of the presenter is:
-It is important for the presenter to prepare and organise themselves before the production. This means going over scripts and being aware and having a rough idea of what they will say and when they are planning to say it during the production.
- The presenter must be able to interact and engage with the target audience. This means the presenter has to analyse and evaluate beforehand. Analysing beforehand will then enable them to understand and know what their target audience expect from them.
-Another duty of the presenter is being able to communicate with the director. This is necessary as they have to work closely with the director to achieve the correct attitude and subject to present to the audience.
